Thanks EZX !
COG (Concours Owners Group) has over 10,000 members across the USA. There is no motorcycle model requirement for membership, though the majority of members have Concours and Concours 14 bikes.
I belonged when I had a ZX14. There are a number of members who show up on adventure bikes, complete with boxy luggage and all. One of them has an air horn which is so loud you can't believe its coming from that little bike. Also, those guys will run you ragged in the twisties, they are very nimble.
COG has a lot of rides during the year. I'm going to Arkansas in June for the 2012 National, and everyone on the east coast is going to Rhode Island in May for the Northeast Region Spring Fling Rally. There will be one mid-summer called "Dog Days of Summer" in PA I believe, and a Fall Foliage rally in October. They even do a "Burrr" rally in November which is a tradition. If I can fit into my heated gear by then (on track!) I will go for the first time. I have heated socks, pants liner, jacket liner, and gloves. Plus heated grips and seat.
Our NE region spans Florida to Canada east of the Great Lakes. I coordinate activities in Maryland, but many of our events draw from PA, WV, and VA as well, and sometimes farther. We have some Canadians that regularily make trips down to enjoy the PA and WV mountain roads.
The calendar is located at COG and there is a link to the forum there too.
We have several big group buys a year. We just did crash bars (I got rear saddlebag guards) and will be doing it for the new crash cage (abbreviated) that MCE is producing. We often go in with the folks with ZGGTR forum, which is another Concours and Concours 14 related web forum, just not a club like COG.
As much as zx14ninjaforum.com is a great wealth of information, the COG forum and online library are many times more informational about the Concours and Concours 14 bikes. Which is good, for one example, because valve adjustment on a 2010+ C14 sucks.
So any rally or "ride to" event I know about, I post here, and to my mc locally. Everyone is invited to attend as guests, and meet the COG people. And what a bunch of characters we are!
